AnkiWeb install code
Step-by-step install
- 1In Anki desktop, open Tools → Add-ons → Get Add-ons…
- 2Paste the code for the add-on you want and click OK. Anki downloads and installs in a few seconds.
- 3Restart Anki when prompted. The add-on registers its menu items on launch.
- 4Open the Medusa menu, next to Tools, and choose Sign in…. On a Mac, Anki’s menus are in the menu bar at the top of the screen, not in the Anki window. For NASCARD: NASCARD → Log In…, with the same account. Then see where everything is.
Troubleshooting
- The add-on doesn't appear after install
- On a Mac, look in the menu bar at the very top of the screen: Anki's menus, and the Medusa menu, are there, not inside the Anki window. If it isn't there, fully quit Anki (Cmd+Q on macOS, not just close the window) and reopen. The add-on registers its menu items at launch.
- I'm on Anki 2.1.49 or older
- Both add-ons require Anki 2.1.50 or later. Download the latest Anki from apps.ankiweb.net and reinstall.
- Apple Silicon Mac (M1/M2/M3): nothing happens after restart
- Make sure you're on the official Qt6 build of Anki (not the legacy Qt5 build). The Apple Silicon build of Anki 2.1.50+ is fully supported.
- AnkiDroid / AnkiMobile
- Add-ons run on Anki desktop only. The companion mobile apps don't support Python add-ons, but synced cards reviewed on desktop pick up the explanations.
- I'm studying for the MCAT
- Choose Premed when you create your account, or in Account settings, and the add-on explains MCAT terms from its MCAT term dictionary. The free MCAT deck is a separate download, on the MCAT Deck page.
- How do I sign in to the add-on?
- In Anki: Medusa → Sign in…, with your Medusa email and password or with Google. NASCARD uses the same account: NASCARD → Log In….
- Still stuck?
- Email team@medusaprep.com with your Anki version (Help → About, or Anki → About Anki on a Mac) and the platform you're on. Replies usually go out within a day.
