- What counts as a credit?
- Credits track the real cost of each request. A typical Medusa deck costs 5–30 credits depending on input length and whether you choose Fast or Thorough. A QBank question costs about 6 to 8 credits, and an MCAT question costs the same as a USMLE one. Term lookups are free on every paid plan.
- Which plan fits an MCAT full-length exam?
- A full-length exam costs 1,367 credits (230 questions), charged in full when you start it, so it can't stop in the middle of a section because your credits ran out. It fits inside a Standard month (1,500 credits) and a Pro month (3,500), but not a Basic month (500): on Basic, add a top-up pack first. MCAT practice costs the same as USMLE practice, about 6 credits a question: a 20-question block is 119 credits, a science section 351 and the CARS section 315. The MCAT deck is free.
- What does a card match cost?
- Finding the cards in your decks that match a document (Medusa menu in Anki → Find cards for a document…) costs about 10 to 25 credits, depending on the document's length. You see the most it can cost before it starts, and nothing is charged for a step that fails.
- What is smart card search?
- Search your own Anki cards in plain words, in any deck: a topic, a question, a patient or a misspelling (Medusa menu in Anki → Search my cards…, or start a search in Browse with ?). Results as you type are free and unlimited on every plan. Pressing Enter runs a smart search, which works out what you mean and ranks your cards: 20 a day on Free, 100 a day on Basic, and unlimited on Standard and Pro. Smart searches never use credits.
- What is card swap?
- It finds the AnKing versions of the cards you made yourself (Medusa menu in Anki → Swap my cards for AnKing…, or select your cards in Browse and right-click). Each of your cards lands in one of three groups: AnKing has all of it, part of it, or none of it. Swap then suspends yours and unsuspends AnKing's in one step you can undo. It works with any deck, not just AnKing: 100 cards a day on Free, 2,000 cards a day on Basic, and unlimited on Standard and Pro. It never uses credits.
- What is the tutor?
- Ask the tutor about a practice question, a card in Anki or any topic, in the chat or on a whiteboard it draws on. Questions to the tutor never use credits: 5 a day on Free, 100 a day on Basic, 500 a day on Standard, and unlimited on Pro.
- Can I downgrade or switch plans?
- Yes — from Account settings, click Manage billing to switch plans or downgrade at any time. Your new plan's credit allocation applies on the next billing cycle; unused top-up credits carry over forever.
- What if I run out of credits mid-month?
- Anyone can buy a top-up pack from the dashboard: $6.99 for 500 credits or $19.99 for 2,000. On a paid plan you can also wait for the next monthly reset. Free users can still use the addon's 15 daily term lookups.
- Do you offer refunds?
- If you are a consumer in Brazil, you can withdraw from your purchase within 7 days for a full refund (Consumer Defense Code, art. 49). Otherwise we refund case by case, usually for accidental purchases or billing errors within 7 days. Email team@medusaprep.com with your account email and we'll sort it.
- Do top-up credits expire?
- No — top-up credits never expire and roll over forever as long as your account is active. Only monthly plan credits reset at the start of each billing period.
- Is NASCARD really included on paid plans?
- Yes. Basic, Standard, and Pro all include unlimited NASCARD multiplayer (race rooms, groups, leaderboards). Free users can still play solo and join races they're invited to; creating rooms or groups requires either a Basic+ plan or the $2.99 NASCARD Lifetime unlock above.
- Can I pay per deck instead of subscribing?
- Yes — see the Pay-Per-Deck card above. Upload a study document on /generate and Stripe Checkout charges only for that single deck ($0.99–$4 typical). No monthly commitment, no account needed beyond a quick signup.
